Project ManagerHoffman Construction Company is a 4th generation heavy highway grading and site development contractor located in Black River Falls, WI. Founded in 1927, Hoffman Construction has been a leader in the earth moving industry for many decades by one simple truth – and it’s our motto – “Our Company is our People”. PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS Reporting to the area VP, the Project Manager oversees and directs the supervision and/or other personnel of the project. This person will communicate directly with subcontractors, Department of Transportation, and others concerning project cost, schedule, and staffing. Administratively, project status reports and other reports will be produced by the Project Manager in order to document the progress of the project. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or Construction Management, with 5+ years of experience managing projects of similar size and scope. This person must be a self-starter, well organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have a high degree of moral and ethical standards. Field EngineerThis individual will assist the Project Manager and others with planning and coordination of the assigned job and the associated paperwork necessary for successful completion of the project - “cradle to grave”. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS • Review project proposal or plan with the Project Manager and determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and necessary resources for various phases of the project. • Prepare status reports for Project Manager and discuss possible outcomes. • Administer and coordinate purchasing activities. • Prepares project reports as assigned. • Provide administrative solutions to duties such as employee time sheets, field books, maintaining blueprints, etc. • Assume additional responsibilities as needed and/or assigned by the Project Manager. • Experience working as an engineering professional in heavy construction or a related industry a definite plus. • Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards. • High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus while being well organized and self-directed. • Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of applicable computer applications. • B.S. in an Engineering or Construction Management discipline desired but not required • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Field Engineer or similar capacity a plus, Internship/Co-Op experience preferred
Union Pipe Foreman
Union Grade ForemanThe optimal candidate will have a thorough understand of, and experience running grading equipment. The ability to use lasers/levels is a definite plus. Must be able to communicate effectively with crew, Superintendent, and job Project Management and have the ability to interpret and follow the plans.
